BSL-2 and Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control for Researchers
Participants will learn the key practices and procedures to be followed when working in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) or BSL-2 enhanced designated research laboratory. Presentation and activities will include the laboratory and environmental risks associated with hazardous biological materials and Bloodborne pathogens, routes of transmission, and methods to prevent exposure and contamination. The proper process for handling and disposing of regulated waste, vaccination, medical monitoring, post-exposure response, decontamination and spill clean-up procedures will be included.
