This is a REd Best Practice Network (live) class.

Class Description: Recognizing and understanding how our own biases impact research recruitment efforts helps to identify ways to reduce health care disparities for our community.
What is health for people of all backgrounds and how does that impact research as a whole?  Where can resources be accessed to enhance study participation?  How can we build a bridge to the community our research targets?

This discussion will describe what it means to be culturally and linguistically appropriate and how we can find ways to address health care disparities through our work in research.

REd Best Practice Networks are 1 hour in length with a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion that are led by subject matter experts. They will be developed based on (1) requests from participants and (2) needs from units on campus. Participants are expected to come prepared with any questions that they may have and to engage in a conversation with the facilitator and their peers.
