UU IRB: Multi-Center Research Using a Single Institutional Review Board (SIRB)
Format:
Asynchronous
Duration:
About 1.5 hours
Audience:
This is a REd Asynchronous (online/self-paced) class.
Use of a single institutional review board (SIRB) for multi-center research requires additional components to ensure that an agreement for institutional reliance on a SIRB is established, that the requirements of all participating institutions and human research protection programs (HRPPs) are being met, and that all investigators and study team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities to the SIRB as well as to their local institution. This presentation will explain the specific details of each of these additional components and will include instruction on how to use the University of Utah IRB as the SIRB for multi-center research. How to use an external SIRB for research conducted at the University of Utah will also be described.
REd Asynchronous classes feature lessons and exercises designed to build competency and increase efficiency. Modules are accessible 24/7 and are all self-paced. All members of the University research community are invited to complete any online classes of interest.
